Functional and attractive, HoverChat is probably the most reliable SMS app I've used. While I like the tabbed icon interface of hellosms more than hoverchat's bubbles, I find that this works better when it comes to MMS, a real sticking point for texting apps. This is wishful thinking, but I'd love an SMS app that also doubled as an iMessage/WhatsApp type app so you could do more robust messaging with fellow users while still being able to SMS everyone else. I know hangouts does this, but not well. -Kevin

It you like the fb messenger interface this is the best choice. I think the close 'x' under the bubble isn't really needed but I'm sure it serves its purpose. MMS needs improvement. I can't send gifs. They keep sending as images. -Jesse

I like the hover features, sleek and fun. But, it could use some sliding feature to move from the lists to the conversations and back quicker, thus only 4 stars. No issues sending MMS. -Jay

I have been using Hoverchat for many months now and I much prefer it to other clients. It has a clean looking interface with options for further access to contact details. It doesn't intrude or take over the screen like some others. -Norman
